Katy ISD excels that more than a thousand students earn national recognition of the board of directors of the college

The National Recognition Program of the College Board has honored 1,680 of Katy ISD students for their exceptional academic success. The district continues to demonstrate academic excellence.

1,680 Katy ISD students were recognized for their Exceptional school realization by the National Recognition Program of the College Board. This program celebrates very efficient students who have excelled on PSAT / NMSQT®, PSAT ™ 10 and Advanced Placement® (AP) exams.

“This recognition testifies to the hard work and the perseverance that our students demonstrate every day and the support that our teachers provide in their academic journey,” explains the DRE Christine Caskey, academic director of Katy ISD. “We are incredibly proud to see so many of them honored for their excellence.”

The program is designed to highlight the academic achievements of each student and give them a competitive advantage over college and scholarships. It is supplied by Bigfuture where students can plan college by finding scholarships.

The College Board presented three prices categories this year: the first generation recognition price, the rural and small town recognition price and the school recognition price, which highlights the most efficient students of each high school.

To qualify, students must:

  • Pass the PSAT / NMSQT® and / or AP® examinations by the end of their second year

  • Maintain a B + or a higher cumulative GPA

  • The score in the 10% tops of the candidates for their school, qualify as first generation students or obtain a 3+ score on two or more 10th year exams

Katy ISD welcomed 97,000 people at school last week. The district continues to surpass the state’s averages. They Directed the highest score of the 10 best state districts, obtaining a B note for the third consecutive year.

Last spring, Katy ISD students surpassed their peers through Texas by:

  • 18 points above the average state at the level of “meetings” in mathematics

  • 17 points above the state average in reading / English

  • 19 points above the state average in science

  • 20 points above the state average in social studies

“The results of standardized state tests are only one of the many measures by which we assess the academic preparation of our students,” explains DRE Christine Caskey. “These impressive results demonstrate the daily commitment of Katy ISD educators, support staff, parents and managers working in collaboration to guarantee that all students receive high quality education.”
