Critics praise new thriller ‘Wild’ from Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried

Based on the bestselling 2022 novel by Freida McFadden, The cleaning lady is a psychological thriller directed by Paul Feig and written by Rebecca Sonnenshine. The film also boasts an impressive cast, led by Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried, Brandon Sklenar and Michele Morrone.

The film immerses audiences in a twisted world where perfection is an illusion and nothing is what it seems. Trying to escape her past, Millie (Sweeney) takes a job as a housekeeper for wealthy Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew Winchester (Sklenar).

However, what begins as a dream job quickly turns into something much more dangerous: a sexy and seductive game of secrets, scandals and power. Behind the closed doors of the Winchesters lies a world of shocking twists and turns that will leave you hanging until the very end.

As we reported on FearHQ.com earlier today, early social media reactions have started rolling in to X. They’re all overwhelmingly positive, and while that’s the norm for early screenings, there are plenty of legitimate critiques here, not just from influencers or YouTubers.

It is said that during The cleaning lady “leans towards the camp in the best way possible”, it is also “dark and fascinating with edge-of-your-seat tension.”

“This movie is unbalanced – in the best way possible,” another reaction was stated, with Amanda Seyfried and Sydney Sweeney described as “phenomenal”, “incredible”, And “spectacular.” It also feels like the ending packs a real punch.

McFadden recently took to Instagram to share her thoughts on this big screen adaptation of her bestselling novel:

“I absolutely loved it! The second it was over, I turned to my husband in the theater and said, ‘Oh my God, I think that was better than the book!’ And he said, “Yeah. » They captured everything readers love about the novel! And the performances from all the actors were simply incredible. It almost made me want to write another Housemaid book. Almost! The only problem is, I don’t know how I’ll be able to wait until December to see him again!”

The cleaning lady hits theaters December 19. You can read the first reactions below,
