The preparation of the Bangladesh Women’s Women’s Cricket team at the ODI Women’s World Cup of the ICC was bumped by consecutive defeats against boys under 15 in the Challenge Cup. The preparatory tournament, organized by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), presented three sides – the female red, the female green and the U -5 boys. While the female teams had to use the competition to sharpen their game before going to India and Sri Lanka, the boys dominated the two games. During the first match at BKSP-3, the U-15 team outlined the female red by 87 points. Beating first, they displayed 181 for 8 out of 50 Overs, led by Bayzid Bostami (46) and Afzal Hossain (44). In response, RED folded for only 94 in 38 Overs. Alimul Islam Adib played with the ball, taking 3 for 12, while Pridi Tariq and Abdul Aziz claimed two counters each. For women, the opener Sarmin Sultana was scored with 20 while only four strikers have reached double figures. In the next match, the U-15 team beat Women’s Green by 41 points, filling consecutive victories on their seniors. The reverse intervenes at a time when Bangladesh spent five months without international cricket. Their last match was against Pakistan during the qualification in the World Cup on April 19. Since then, the team has mainly followed a fitness training before gathering for intra-squad matches in Sylhet.
