I will be really surprised if India does not win their games comfortably – Sunil Gavaskar
Recently, the legendary Sunil Gavaskar striker said that India would be the favorites to win the 2025 Asian Cup, and it would be surprised if the team led by Suryakumar Yadav does not win the matches comfortably.
“I will be really surprised if India does not comfortably win his matches. All their matches, not only against Pakistan, but even against Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka,” said Gavaskar, quoted by Hindustan Times.
“If they do not win comfortably, it will be a bit of a surprise. Because the Indian team has really, in the past two years, a really superb team, in great touch and great shape.”
Sunil Gavaskar also estimated that the Asian Cup has lost its spark due to the formats based between the cricket of 20 and 50 to 50.
“It was mainly a tournament at 50. And in the past decade about the last decade, it has passed from a T20 tournament and a 50 on tournament, according to what is the big ICC tournament which is likely to occur after the tournament in Asia. When this kind of thing happens, he said the format from top to bottom, the tournament loses its spark a bit, “he said.
