County Fair of Alameda in her 113rd year

The County Fair of Alameda is underway and in its 113rd year at the Pleasanton Fairgroups.

The event started on June 13 and Sunday, boasted with fireworks and a drone show, even if there are no horse races for the first time in modern history.

Earlier in the day, people took advantage of the rides, including camel journeys.

The children’s zoo offered goats and sheep, as well as exposed cattle.

“I like to see the cattle, listen to music and get on the tram,” said April Thomason.

For many people, the fair is all about food, turkey legs to corn dogs and even fried twinkies.

The fair takes place from Wednesday to Sunday to July 6.
