TIME IS FORMING. THE NUMBERS ARE STILL FUCKING. HEATED SEATS. REALLY? I know, I know, very well. We have about 40 in a few places, I think. I mean, Boone, you could use a heated seat. It’s 43 degrees outside. WE STILL HAVE TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW TO MID 50S IN ASHEBORO TO 56. ONE OF THE MILDEST POINTS. ONCE YOU ENTER THE VIRGINIA LINE AROUND THE TEMPERATURES ARE CLOSER TO 50 IF NOT IN THE UPPER 40S. And that’s a pretty big drop in temperature from yesterday. If you remember, at that time we were in the upper 60s. SO A FALL OF 1015 DEGREES FURTHER WEST, A TEMPERATURE DROP OF 15 TO 20 DEGREES IN SOME OF OUR WESTERN COUNTIES UNDER RELATIVELY CLEAR SKIES. We had this clearing line to pass late in the afternoon and early in the evening we saw flashes of sunlight. BEFORE THAT, TEMPERATURES WAS STILL CLOSE TO 80 YESTERDAY AFTERNOON. THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN TODAY. WE HAVE CHANGED THE DIRECTION OF THE WIND. WE ALSO CHANGED THE AIR AND THE RAIN WAS PUSHED SOUTHWARDS. A FEW MORE SHOWERS IN WILMINGTON TO THE SOUTH. OAK ISLAND TOWARDS SUNSET BEACH. MYRTLE BEACH IS SEEING A FEW SHOWERS AND SOME LIGHTNING JUST OFFSHORE. SO A LITTLE NOISY AT THE BEACHES. THIS MORNING WE START OUR SORT OF EASTERN TOUR. HIGH PRESSURE CANADIAN HIGH PRESSURE BUILDING. LOOK AT ALL THE FREEZE AND FREEZE CONCERNS THEY HAVE ON THE GREAT LAKES IN THE MID-ATLANTIC REGION, NORTHERN VIRGINIA UNDER SOME FREEZE AND FREEZE ALERTS RIGHT NOW, THEN FURTHER NORTH INTO MAINE, PARTS OF NEW ENGLAND, NEW YORK STATE AND PENNSYLVANIA. SUBSTITUTION OF THE FRONT TOWARDS THE SOUTH, RAIN DEVELOPS THERE THERE. THIS FRONT WILL BLOCK. WE HAVE CLOUDS CROSSING ITS, AND AT SOME TIME SOON, PROBABLY BY TOMORROW, WE’RE GOING TO HAVE AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE START TO DEVELOP AND START TO MOVE UP THE COAST. THIS WILL PROBABLY BRING SOME STRENGTH WITH THIS. WE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE WINDS, SOME COASTAL FLOODING, A KING TIDE ON THE BEACHES AND WE MAY SEE SOME PROBLEMS THERE. THE BIG QUESTION WE’RE TRYING TO ANSWER FOR OUR LOCAL FORECASTS IS WHERE THIS TRACK IS GOING AND HOW MUCH OF THIS RAIN IS RECEIVING INLAND, AND WHAT IMPACT IT HAS ON OUR REGION. WE’RE GOING TO BE ON THE EDGE OF THIS. IT LOOKS LIKE IN SOME AREAS A LITTLE RAIN MAY COME FROM THIS. SOMETIMES IN THIS TIME SATURDAY SUNDAY. GOOD SUN TODAY. NORTHEAST WINDS 10 TO 15. HIGH TEMPERATURES LIKELY IN THE MID TO UPPER 70S. EXCUSE ME 60 THIS AFTERNOON, I HAVE USED SAYING 70 ALL WEEK. GOOD WEATHER IN THE CONTRILLONS OF SURRY AND WILKES COUNTIES. TODAY, NORTHEAST WINDS 5 TO 10. JUST A NICE AUTUMN DAY. LONG SLEEVES. THIS WILL DEFINITELY BE A GOOD IDEA TODAY. I can’t wait to get home. Put on a hoodie. WE HAVE TEMPERATURES NEAR 60° IN THE MOUNTAIN. A LITTLE LATER IN THE AFTERNOON TOO. So that’s what we’re looking at. WE WILL START BUILDING MORE CLOUDS TOMORROW. SO THE FORECAST CHANGES A LITTLE. WE WILL START WITH SUN IN THE MORNING THEN IT WILL START TO BE A LITTLE OVERLOOK TO OUR SOUTH. I still think we have some breaks in the clouds and there should be a higher cloud deck, but look at how close this rain is getting for Friday night and Saturday morning on this particular pattern, there will be a pretty well defined edge of where this rain is. I think the eastern part of the state will catch most of it, especially east of I-95, but it will be close enough that we should plan on a few showers for your weekend outdoor activities. AND LOOK HOW WET IT IS ON THE BEACHES. COUPLE THAT WITH A FEW WIND GUSTS, IT COULD BE A PRETTY STRONG DEPRESSION IN THE PASSAGE. THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT IT’S NOT TROPICAL. WE HAVE AN AREA OF INTEREST THAT IS NO LONGER INTERESTING. HE MOVED TO MEXICO. NOW THE DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY IS OVER WITH THIS ONE. A QUICK OVERVIEW OF TROPICAL STORM GERRY. WINDS UP TO 65. EXPECTED TO BECOME A HURRICANE. AND AS SOON AS IT buzzes the Leeward Islands and turns east of Mexico, it shouldn’t bother them too much. PROBABLY ROUGH SURFACES THERE. WE’RE GOING TO BE IN THE 6

Cooler air followed a cold front, dropping temperatures significantly this week. This weekend it will feel a lot more like fall. We anticipate the development of a low pressure area along the coast. Heavy rain and gusty winds are expected across eastern North Carolina. The western edge of the storm could bring rain to parts of the Triad depending on the track.
