Connor Syme leads by two after a superb third round to KLM Open – Articles

Connor Syme “burst” after giving himself an advance of two shots to take the final round of the 2025 KLM open.

The Scottish sneakted the last two holes for a superb 66 without Bogey, the best tour of the day, to reach ten under the peer and pass in front of Joakim Lagergren at the top.

Lagergren ended a level 71 level to stay eight sous with Ricardo Gouveia, the third member of this final group, sharing third place out of four sous with the compatriot of Syme Richie Ramsay and the Italian Francesco Laporta.

“So, so good,” he said about his round. “Broker with that.

“Obviously, a bonus to finish with a couple (of Birdies) towards the end, but overall really, really happy.”

The stews in the third and fifth had lagergren three shots away from the field, with Syme Claire in second position after a nine front containing eight pars and an eagle three in the third.

However, bogeys following the eighth and ninth holes have reduced the advantage of the Swedish to one. He saved after sending his tee-shot to the next in the right arm, but when Syme has Birda the 11th, everything was square at the top.

Gouveia a Birda the 15th to take a shot from the pair of the pair, but he and Lagergren were both three strokes on the 15th to drop a shot each and leave symon in advance by himself.

Gouveia made a good backup by the 16th and saw the Syme Birdie putt Stay standing to keep the margins the same at the top.

Syme made a movement at the penultimate hole, his approaching approach in the right bank at three feet to install a Birdie.

Gouveia dropped a shot but recovered it to the last – despite sending his approach to the gallery – while the three men finished with Birdies, Eagle Putt de Lagergren with a short six -inch.

Syme was the man at the top, however, because he was looking for a first victory on the DP World Tour, after having held the advance of 54 holes three times.

“Obviously, there is a little gap right now for me and Joakim,” he said. “But over time tomorrow, it can change so much, so quickly, so I’m just trying to do my best on each plane. I know it’s so cliché but it’s my goal.

“I am in this situation a few times now, which has all been so different. It is really difficult to win here, I obviously gave myself a good position a few times and tomorrow is another excellent opportunity.

“I would love to do it, obviously, I hope I can play my game tomorrow and I can do it. Overall, I think it thinks too far, I’m just going to try to play a blow at a time and get this state of mind from the start, and what will be.”

On his tee -shot at 17, which flirted with the bunker at the front right of the green with Syme by calling several times “not to plug”, he said: “I did not quite understand – the smile was because I thought it was going to go in the bunker.

“Obviously, I was lucky that it has covered and not more, and obviously rolled at a decent distance to be sneaked so yes, it was very nice!”

Lagergren has reached a superb approach of 234 yards in the last green to install a 30 -foot eagle chance which would have left him a night’s advance, but settled for a sapper.

“It was probably my best day, so it was nice to remove it on the last hole,” he said.

“Delighted to be also in both, so I can’t wait to be there. (I have to) let myself play golf, not be stressed and let me hit these strokes that I know that I can hit.”

Fabrizio Zanotti pulled 69 to reach three cents, sharing sixth place with Rafa Cabrera Bello. Pierre Pineau finished with a birdie to finish the level of the day in two with his French colleague David Ravetto, the South African pair Jayden Schaper and Zander Lombard and the favorite of the Daan Huizing house.

Alejandro Del Rey and the four 67s from Lucas Bjerregaard only dragged Syme for the tour of the day and raised them to a money, in a group of nine players sharing 13th place.
