Concept art for EARLY STEPS indicates that Galactus originally DESTROYED Earth 828

Fantastic Four: first steps ended with Marvel’s First Family successfully forcing Galactus into a teleporter that would leave him stranded on the other side of the universe (keeping Earth safe for a few million years).
Heading into the reboot, the prevailing theory among fans was that the Devourer of Worlds might succeed in destroying Earth 828, forcing the team to flee to another reality. Even though we know that the Fantastic Four will eventually fly to Earth 616 in Avengers: Apocalypseit seems to be in order to find Franklin Richards after his kidnapping by Doctor Doom.
Today, new concept arts Fantastic Four: first stepsThe upcoming “Art of” book has been revealed, and it states that the original plan was for Galactus to destroy New York City after arriving on Earth.
This doesn’t feel like his “landing”, but rather appears to be the beginning of his consumption of the planet and the devastation of not only the Big Apple, but the Earth itself. We also have a great piece from Adi Granov, showcasing the work that went into bringing Galactus to life on screen.
Once Fantastic Four: First Steps – The Art of Film is out later this month, we can expect plenty of high-resolution pieces from the reboot, as well as some additional insight into how things might have played out differently in the reboot helmed by filmmaker Matt Shakman.
“They photographed me as if they were shooting in miniature with enormous amounts of light, so that every nook and cranny of the costume was fully lit and could be enlarged with perfect focus,” Galactus actor Ralph Ineson has previously spoken about his transformation. “So yeah, it was a slightly different way of working, but more solo, just me and the team.”
“They showed me sort of a preview of how big it was going to be on screen, obviously without processing,” he continued. “So I kind of knew.”
“To try to understand [how big he is, though]it was more about thinking about what something that size could do, you know? » »added the actor. “The destruction that it could cause. So I watched a lot of videos of landslides, tornadoes, tsunamis, destructive things like that to imagine having that kind of power over the natural world.”
Was Galactus really a unique villain in the MCU? This seems to be the case currently, but the next Avengers the films should bring us some surprises, while a lot of things could change as a result of Secret Wars in December 2027.
