Bill Maher joking that the first prayer of New Pope was “ Keep JD vance the hell of me ”

As almost every two television host this week, Bill Maher spoke a lot about Pope Leo XIV, the newly elected chief of the Catholic church who also happens to be an American from Chicago (born Robert Prevost).

And given the time of the death of the predecessor of Leon, Pope Francis – he died only a few hours after meeting the current vice -president of the United States – Maher joked during his monologue on Friday that the first prayer of Leo understood “keep JD Vance away from me!”

But before this joke, the HBO host made its audience informed. “The other countries of the world can suck him. Because the American’s American! And that? American, his name is Robert Prevost, although he goes to Leo XIV,” said Maher.

“He is the chief of 1.4 billion Catholics, five of whom are still going to the church,” continued Maher. “Already gave his first mass. Oh, it was a good one. He said very interesting things. He said:” Many people perceive Christianity as absurd and meant the weak and unintelligent. “Finally, a pope that attracts me.

Maher then discussed the political arguments on Leo. “It’s so funny. The way we do everything that is a supporter right away, we have a new pope, and immediately the Republicans say `too much awakened the pope woke ‘and the left was like’ no, I think he voted republican ”, but he was in Chicago. He says he doesn’t pay attention to any of this.

“I know, when you are a pope, you have a direct line to the big guy up there.
