Strong fall front brings rain, wind and cooler air to Cincinnati

A strong fall cold front will move through this weekend. Look for rain, wind and extreme temperatures.

HIGHS MAY JUST REACH THE 60S. SO WE FEEL MORE OF A REAL FALL HERE THIS NEXT WEEK WITH THE CHILL IN THE AIR. HERE’S A LIVE PREVIEW FROM KINGS HIGH SCHOOL. We have some sports in the morning. YOU CAN SEE A PARTLY CLOUDY SKY ABOVE. SUCH A DECENT MORNING TO BE OUTSIDE. IT’S COMFORTABLELY COOL WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER 60S. There is also our cold front to the west. IT BRINGS A FEW SHOWERS TO THE GREAT LAKES REGION. A FEW STORMS. WE’RE LOOKING FOR A BETTER OPPORTUNITY FOR SEVERE WEATHER BACK TO THE SOUTH AND WEST HERE. LOCALLY, NOT ALSO. I THINK. GENERALLY JUST A FEW WET WEATHER, A FEW THUNDER ROLLS AND A FEW GUSTY LOCAL WINDS. WE’LL TALK ABOUT IT A LITTLE MORE TO COME, BUT IT’S GOING IN OUR DIRECTION AS WE HAVE GONE TODAY. We have about 80 before that. SO WE HAVE VERY STRONG SOUTH WINDS BRINGING A LITTLE HEAT, A LITTLE NOON SUN BEFORE BECOMING CLOUDY AGAIN. AND THEN TONIGHT CLOUDY RAIN COMING AFTER 2:00, 3:00 AM. It’s going to be windy. TEMPERATURES WILL THEREFORE REMAIN IN THE 60S TONIGHT. TOMORROW AROUND 72. THIS WILL BE YOUR MIDNIGHT TEMPERATURE FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. WE’RE GOING TO FALL INTO THE 50’S SO IT WILL BE A COOL AND WINDY DAY TOMORROW. SO WE HAVE THIS WEATHER IMPACT IN PLACE. RAIN, EVEN A FEW THUNDER ROUNDS EXPECTED. SO YOUR STORM PREDICTION CENTER OUTLOOK STILL UNDER THE LOWEST RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER. This is level one out of five. MAYBE A FEW STRONG GUSTY WINDS LOCALLY WITH A FEW OF THESE SHOWER STORMS MOVING IN. WE DO NOT EXPECT A SIGNIFICANT THREAT OF SEVERE WEATHER, BUT THIS OPPORTUNITY WILL PRESENT OVERNIGHT TONIGHT AND IN THE FIRST HALF OF TOMORROW. SO MONITOR THIS DURING THE NIGHT HOURS. BUT AGAIN, MOST OF WE ARE JUST SEEING GENERAL SHOWER OR STORM ACTIVITY WITH A FEW MORE BLUSTERY CONDITIONS, GUSTING WINDS TO AROUND 25 MPH TODAY. AGAIN, IT WILL BE SOUTH WINDS FOR YOU. And as you move forward this evening, a cold front will begin to move in. SO THIS WILL INCREASE THE WINDS EVEN MORE, I THINK WE’RE LOOKING FOR GUSTS TO 30 40 MPH, NOT HIGHER FOR SOME COMMUNITIES. MAY SEE SOME MAXIMUM GUSTS UP TO APPROXIMATELY 50MPH. THESE WILL BE STILL ISOLATED, MORE LOCALIZED. AND THEN DURING THE DAY, I THINK MOST OF OUR WINDS ARE AROUND 30 MPH. SO VERY AIR. NEXT 24 HOURS HERE. AND AS WE SEND OUT YOUR NIGHT SCHEDULE FROM SUNDAY TO MONDAY, THINGS WILL START TO CHANGE A LITTLE MORE FOR US. TODAY’S FUTURECAST SHOWED CLOUD COVER INCREASING THROUGH THIS EVENING. GENERALLY DRY UNTIL ABOUT 3 AM THEN THESE SHOWERS AGAIN. Perhaps rumblings of thunder enter. So it will last until tomorrow morning. YOU WILL WAKE UP TO WET WEATHER. AND THEN WE WATCH MORE SCATTERED ACTIVITY DURING THE AFTERNOON. So it will be random. AND THEN I’M THINKING ABOUT ONE LAST RAIN RAIN HERE IN ABOUT FOUR TO TEN. And then we’ll dry things out until Monday. So when all of this is said and done, I think most of us, getting about a quarter of an inch of rain, could see localized totals a little higher than that. BUT AGAIN, IT WON’T BE A HUGE VERY HEAVY RAIN EVENT FOR US HERE, JUST WITH THE MOVEMENT OF THIS FRONT. AND THEN TODAY WE HAVE THE FC CINCINNATI MONTREAL MATCH WHICH STARTS AT 6 p.m. YOU HAVE WINDY AND MILD CONDITIONS WITH TEMPERATURES A LITTLE LESS THAN 80°C. THEN CYCLONES IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE SEASON AT 75°C WITH CLOUDY AND WINDY CONDITIONS. Again, remember that if you’re out late, you’re going to see rain. OTHERWISE, WE’RE GOING TO WATCH THIS TOMORROW AND THEN WE’RE DRYING FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK. LOTS OF SUN WITH COOLER TEMPERATURES, ABOVE 30S FOR THE LOW
