Commanders of Javontae Jean-Baptiste for “a moment” with torn pec

The defensive winger of Washington commanders, Javontae Jean-Baptiste, will be absent for “some time” after having undergone a torn pectoral muscle during the defeat of 34-27 Sunday in Atlanta, chief coach Dan Quinn told journalists on Monday.
Jean-Baptiste will be placed on the injured reserve, but the wait is that he will be sidelined longer than the four games required for an IR passage. While Quinn was not engaged on a specific calendar before surgery, he said that torn pectorals normally need recovery in recent months, not weeks.
“We are disappointed for him. He worked hard to come back from injury and start moving again,” said Quinn. “Certainly a setback for him, and a blow for us too.”
Jean-Baptiste, 25, dug a role of rotation in the defense of commanders despite a choice of seventh round during the 2024 draft by Washington. He appeared in 15 games (one departure), recording 19 plated, two bags, two plated for the loss and three strokes.
Quinn also shared an update on the status of Jayden Daniels after the quarter-Arrière missed the last two games with a sprained of the right knee. After a “strong” training on Saturday, Quinn seems at least somewhat optimistic that Daniels could be back for the Sunday match of commanders (2-2) in charge (3-1).
However, this will always come down to his appearance and his feelings this week in the game period in Los Angeles.
“We are going to take (Tuesday and Wednesday) and develop his practice plan, go through the whole process with him this week medically, how he feels, how he trains,” said Quinn.
