Matt Gay is done kicking for the Commanders.
Washington announced today that Gay had been released.
Gay hasn’t played well this season, making just 13 of 19 field goals, and he missed two field goals in Sunday’s overtime loss to the Dolphins. His 68.4 percent completion rate ranks 32nd of 34 kickers who have made enough attempts to qualify this season.
A fifth-round pick of the Buccaneers in 2019, Gay also played for the Colts and Rams.
