The American executive decree 14168 of January 20, 2025 ended the federal funding for research which examines the gender as a scientific and social construction beyond the so-called “immutable biological classification as a man or a woman” (1). Politics is an example of disinformation: the spread of lies with the intention of misleading (2). By wandering wandering on rigorous research and affirmed by peers, as ideological, this directive undermines scientific integrity and threatens public health. Scientists must express themselves against disinformation efforts which delegate this important research line.
