Columbia Sportswear’s Star Wars collaboration drops tomorrow. Here’s how to get early access

One of the best annual winter traditions of the 2020s, in my opinion, is the collaboration between Columbia Sportswear and Star Wars. Over the past few years, we’ve seen a whole range of outdoor gear aimed at showing everyone that you’re a big Star Wars fan, whatever the weather. After Darth Vader took over last year, there was really only one logical location for this year’s lineup: the forest moon of Endor. And if you want to be sure to participate in this collaboration, you need to prepare now.

You can’t have a conversation about Return of the Jedi without a deep appreciation of the Endor arc of the story. It’s action-packed, has some of the best costumes in the entire original trilogy, and everyone loves seeing the Ewoks lay siege to the Stormtroopers. You can see every aspect of Endor in this Columbia Sportswear line and how hard the team behind this line worked to make it special for Star Wars fans.

Like other Star Wars releases, the flagship product is a $600 modular trench coat inspired by Han Solo himself. It’s a three-in-one design covered in clever little nods to the character and the movie, but Columbia did something new this year.

The interior lining, what Columbia calls its Omni-Heat reflective pattern, contains the Rebel Starbird symbol in gold throughout. This version of Omni-Heat is found throughout this range, making it a nice little detail to show off to your friends.

If Solo isn’t what you’re looking for, there are plenty of other options in this range. The $400 Endor Issue Poncho is an almost cosplay-ready waterproof poncho, with side snaps to fit snugly and elastics in the arms to keep water out. This one isn’t made for the deep cold, but wearing it while hiking in the woods makes for a great photo opportunity.

The rest of the winter lineup includes an Endor Issue vest for $150, a set of matching thermal pants for $130, a pair of matching boots for $220, and a selection of hats and sweaters with a similar theme. But the real star of the show, in my opinion, is the Ewok fleece jacket for little ones.

Tell me you wouldn’t wear it if it came in adult sizes. I dare you.

Columbia will carry them from infant to youth sizes, and all of them have these ridiculously cute ears on top. I’m sure Columbia had a good reason for not making an adult version of this set as well, and I’m not bitter about it at all.

This Endor collection arrives on the Columbia website at 10 a.m. ET on December 11. If you’re part of the free Columbia Greater Rewards program, you’ll have access to this initial sale 30 minutes early. Parts of this line will also be available in a few Columbia Sportswear stores, although historically most availability has been in stores closest to the Disney parks. However you manage to get yours this year, you’ll be ready to show off your fandom no matter the temperature outside.
