Colman Domingo is the cowardly lion in “Wicked: For Good”

Colman Domingo secretly joined the cast of Villain: for goodlike none other than the voice of the Cowardly Lion.
The film and actor’s Instagram accounts shared the news on Monday, after Jon M. Chu made headlines last week when he teased a big-name actor attached to the role. Domingo joins an already star-studded roster with Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande as Elphaba (now known as the Wicked Witch of the West in the second film) and Glinda (or Glinda the Good), respectively.
The Cowardly Lion is one of the few new characters introduced in Villain: for good which come from the main story of The Wizard of Oz. The Tin Man, Scarecrow, and Dorothy’s appearances were all teased early in Wicked and the following teasers for the sequel. None of the actors who took on these roles have been revealed yet.
Villain: for good This is the first time that Elphaba and Glinda officially cross paths with their beloved. Wizard of Oz quartet in Chu’s film series. Following the events of the original Broadway musical, the second film will merge the timeline with that of the 1939 film in the middle of Dorothy’s arrival in Oz.
Rounding out the high-profile cast, Jonathan Bailey also stars as Prince Fiyero, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, and Jeff Goldblum as the Sorcerer. Erivo and Glinda received Oscar nominations for their portrayal of the beloved witches, with the original 2024 film earning a total of 10 Oscar nominations and two wins.
The second to come Wicked The film will be released in theaters on November 21 and will pick up after the events of the first film.
