College basketball power rankings: Michigan and Arizona tight at the top

The calendar moving to 2026 means more than a third of the college basketball regular season is already in the books. And if there’s one thing to take away from this period, it’s this: There’s Michigan and Arizona, and then there’s everyone else.
This is reflected below in our updated Power Rankings, where Michigan and Arizona – and in that order for a second straight update – rank #1 and #2. There are plenty of other teams waiting in the wings: Iowa State, UConn, Vanderbilt have all been spectacular. But the top is the top with a ball.
Moving on to the rankings – where the top two remain the same, but there are many other changes and changes throughout the updated top 16.
