Coco Gauff beats Lucia Bronzetti to reach cincinnati open eight last

“For the most part, I played aggressive,” said Gauff, who won the Cincinnati Open in 2023 before winning the United States Open that year.
“Maybe there were a couple who was a little passive in some of these games, but it’s difficult – the balls are super light and she didn’t give me much pace.
“I was just trying to play controlled but also aggressive and, for the most part, I think I did it well.”
GAUFF will then face the Italian Jasmine Paolini, which won 6-1 6-2 against Barbora Krejcikova from the Czech Republic.
The double champion of the Grand Slam, Krejcikova, who needed a medical dead time in the second set, was beaten in 71 minutes.
“I think it was not 100%, but she is an incredible player,” said Paolini.
“She can put the ball where she wants every time. I don’t know how she does that. But I’m happy to have tried to stay mentally until the last point.”
