Cocaine “SpaceX”: an Australian pilot dies in an airplane accident; The cops find 200 kg of drugs
About 200 kg of cocaine were found wrapped in a spacex false packaging after an airplane crashed in remote Brazil. The pilot, an Australian, was discovered dead outside the plane after going down to Coruripe, a coastal area along the tropical coast of Brazil.The pilot, identified as Timothy J. Clark, was the only occupant of the plane. The crushed plane was recorded in Zambia, but would have operated in Brazil for at least two yearsFederal police did not disclose the starting point of the plane or the planned destination, but noted the presence of additional fuel tanks, suggesting that it was equipped for a long -range flight, the Daily Mail reported.“The investigation will continue to deepen the facts and identify the owner of the illicit equipment, thanks to the opening of a police investigation,” said the federal police quoted by the local media.Local police have estimated transport to around nine million Brazilian reais (around 16 million dollars), and drugs were transferred to the integrated public security center in Coruripe, according to local media. The plane is suspected of having used Alagoas as a stop along an international drug trafficking route, quoted by Em Tempo Noticias. Investigators also examine whether the pilot had prior knowledge of the Brazil air routes.While Brazil produces a little cocaine itself, Colombia represents around 70% of world supply, the country playing a central role in international distribution.A 2016 United Nations report identified Brazil as the most frequently cited starting point for cocaine expeditions to Africa, Asia and Europe, just behind Colombia.
