Cobb schools release top ACT scores again

October 15, 2025 — Cobb schools once again continue to exceed state and national averages in ACT tests.

On average, Cobb students got a 23.7 out of a high of 36 on the ACT for 2025, compared to Georgia’s 21.4 and the national average of 19.4.

This new data reinforces the recent success of students in Cobb schools. From metro Atlanta’s best SAT scores to record 2025 graduation rates, the dedicated work of teachers, parents, guardians and district leaders continues to be reflected in student outcomes.

This new ACT score average of 23.7 represents a slight increase from 22.8 in 2024 and 22.7 in 2023.

Cobb ranks #1 for highest average ACT scores compared to other districts in metro Atlanta.

Gwinnett, DeKalb, Marietta City and Fulton County all rank below Cobb schools in student achievement on the ACT.

“Every time I hear about another student success story, it reminds me why Cobb is such a special place,” said David Chastain, president of the Cobb School Board. “Strong results like these don’t just happen: they come from teachers, families and a community all working together to help our students achieve their goals. »

While schools across the state and other nearby districts saw their scores decline, 12 Cobb schools improved their ACT scores compared to last year.

These improved outcomes in turn help students and their families achieve their higher education goals, creating more opportunities for college and future learning.

With an average rating of 28.5, Wheeler High School ranks second in all of Georgia for highest average score. Two other Cobb schools ranked in the top 20 among Georgia high schools with the highest ACT scores: Walton High School 26.8 average secured seventh place, and Pope High School he ranked 18th with an average score of 25.1.

Beyond the school-wide achievements, eight students in the Class of 2025 achieved a perfect composite score of 36.0. Two students participate Lassiter High School And Pope, while three students from Walton and Wheeler earned perfect scores.
