Washington commanding coach Dan Quinn said on Saturday that he included the commercial side of the sport with regard to the Large Terry McLaurin recipient requesting an exchange of the team.

McLaurin asked for a change of decor Thursday given his frustration in the face of the lack of progress in negotiations towards a contract extension. Quinn said that McLaurin had told him about his plea for a job before the news became public.

“We love Terry. I’m really happy that he is there,” said Quinn. “I hope he will train soon. We also understand that there is the commercial side of these things that (Managing Director) Adam (Peters) and his side and Terry and his representatives who work. I remain in a way in this space. We recognize that the two occur.

“But as I said, I’m really happy that he is here. I love coaching it. But the commercial side is a bit where it is. It is not – someone asked me if it was a distraction – this is not the case. The players today, they are more aware of the contracts and things maybe we are just going to do.

“For Terry and the demand for trade, this is one of the normal affairs that take place around the NFL. This is normal, we understand it, and we simply throw our best practices in the field.”

McLaurin, who is 30 years old in September, became a restraint and was placed on the list physically unable to play with an apparent ankle injury last season. He did not attend organized team activities and a compulsory mini-camp. However, he participated in spring training sessions.

With a base salary of $ 15.5 million and a $ 25.5 million ceiling in the last season of a $ 68.3 million contract over three years, the Speedster comes from a year of career with 1,096 reception yards, 13 affected and 82 receptions on 117 objectives. He added three scores and 227 yards on 14 receptions in three eliminatory games.

McLaurin’s quarter-arre and recruit Jayden Daniels helped Washington to a 12-5 brand in regular season and his best season since he won the Super Bowl in 1991. Commanders eliminated Tampa Bay Buccaneers before the NFC Wild-Card and Detroit Lions champion in the championship of the Division championship.

In six seasons with Washington, the selection twice pro Bowl (2022, 2024) has 6,379 reception yards, 38 affected and 460 catches in 97 games.

Captain of teams, McLaurin reached the 1,000 yards mark for a five consecutive franchise record despite instability in the quarter position before the Daniels year offensive campaign.
