Mike Vrabel on Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft’s Hall of Fame chances

New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel commented on the nomination of owner Robert Kraft and former Patriots coach Bill Belichick as finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2026.

Long before becoming a coach, Vrabel played in New England from 2001 to 2008. He is a three-time Super Bowl champion and a former first-team All-Pro for the franchise. So if anyone knows what Belichick and Kraft meant to football, it’s Vrabel.

“Oh my God, I mean, I think they’re both very deserving [of a Hall of Fame induction]” said Vrabel on The Greg Hill Show. “I think you have to look at our organization and our franchise with Robert and his leadership, and the success that we’ve had, the development of this stadium and this Patriots Place. … And then obviously, the success that Bill has had as a head coach here is unprecedented.”

Not all of Vrabel’s former teammates agree.

Former Patriots linebacker Ted Johnson claimed earlier this month that he didn’t consider Belichick a first-ballot Hall of Famer due to multiple scandals during the legendary coach’s NFL run.

“…I don’t know if any coach has had more success than Bill when it comes to championships, but also more negative stories that he’s put himself through,” Johnson said. WEEI afternoon. “And so to say that he deserves to be in the first ballot of the Hall of Fame, when you consider all these scandals that he’s been involved in, I don’t agree. I don’t.”
