Liverpool could try to do business in January, although he has already spent more than 400 million pounds sterling in the summer. A new central defender is likely to be on the agenda after the LCA injury by Geovanni Leoni, but he was also discussed on another departure.

Despite this, Pete O’Rourke (via football insider) said that Liverpool is unlikely to allow Gomez to leave in January, given the lack of depth of Arne Slot in central defense.

It is logical that Gomez remains in Liverpool up to at least the end of the season, given his obvious problems on the central back. Next summer would be the right time for him to leave, since his contract expired in 2027.
