Arsenal expects to sign at least one attacker this summer, and Alexander Isak would be one of their targets. But recent developments are now more likely that his Newcastle teammate is moving in northern London.

After five seasons without trophy, Arsenal is determined to place things during the 2025-26 season. And to do this, they must strengthen the team of Mikel Arteta. Martin Zubimenddi should arrive from Real Sociedad, but there is also the desire for a new striker and a winger who is also brought.

Isak is Arsenal’s dream objective at Striker, but since Newcastle does not intend to entertain the offers, a case is unlikely. But this may not be the case for Anthony Gordon, who is also on the Gunners radar.

Addressing Football Insider (via football365), the former scout Mick Brown has entered detail in the interest of Arsenal for Gordon.

“Arsenal seeks to strengthen widely. We talked about Martinelli, and if he leaves, they want to bring someone who is better than him, and there are some names on their radar. A player for whom he showed his interest is Anthony Gordon.

“They looked at him, keeping an eye on his situation in case he became available. Newcastle has a little uncertainty about them because of their financial situation. If they can offer him a lot of money, Newcastle may have to accept. Then, Arsenal must decide if the money it would take to make it worth what it will bring to the team and if it is good.

“But he is still young, and there is a reason why they have been watching him for some time.”

Gordon is a key player from Newcastle, but they are more likely to consider selling it on Isak. Arsenal could be well placed, but they may have to face the competition from Liverpool.
