Las Vegas (Fox5) – A severe thunderstorm warning is in force for the Center-County Clark County in southern Nevada until 3 p.m. Showers and thunderstorms redeveloped in the southern parts of the Las Vegas valley Thursday afternoon.

Storms can produce moderate to strong precipitation, sudden floods and high winds of flow. Wind gusts could reach 50 to 60 MPH, and a hail of a size is possible because the storm is in the east.

In a partially sunny sky, temperatures should reach a maximum of 93 degrees before cooling slowly at 74 while humidity linger in the region.

Drier Air will mix and move to the region on Friday, bringing the temperatures of the seasonal average closer to nearly 96 degrees. However, diurnal heating combined with residual humidity could trigger another round of showers and isolated thunderstorms. The highest chances of storms remain in the mountains, but light showers could derive in the valley in the afternoon.

Temperatures will continue to climb throughout the weekend, with summits in the lower deserts rising above 100 degrees. The hottest days are expected to be on Saturday and Sunday.
