City Epic centered on Muslims now under the DOJ investigation, says Senator Cornyn

Joséphine, Texas – The Ministry of Justice is investigating a proposed community in the Dallas region centered on a mosque, according to Senator John Cornyn.
Several managers of Texas have raised concerns about the planned community of Joséphine, saying that the group behind the community is trying to create an exclusive Muslim community which would make residents follow Islamic law.
Cornyn asked for a DoJ investigation into Epic City last month, stressing that the community could discriminate according to the faith.
DOJ Survey on Epic City
Senator Cornyn announced that the American prosecutor Pam Bondi opens the investigation.
What they say:
“Religious discrimination and Sharia law have their place in the solitary star state. Any violation of federal law must be continued quickly, and I know that in Trump administration, they will be,” Cornyn said in a statement.
The other side:
Epic City and Community Capital Partners Inc. (CCP) hired the Dan Cogdell high -level lawyer in April to represent them in Texas surveys concerning the financial and free housing laws and if the mosque has led illegal funeral.
Cogdell called “racial profiling” surveys.
The lawyer affirms that the promoters “did nothing illegal and that we will cooperate fully with all the surveys, constantly how erroneous and useless they are”.
Cogdell says that none of the investigations would occur if the community was planned around a church or a temple.
“These people are American citizens, respectful of laws and Texans,” he said.
Cogdell called on the complaints of some, including the Governor of Texas Greg Abbott, which Epic tries to enforce the “dangerous” Sharia law.
What is Epic City?
The background:
Epic City is a planned development near Joséphine, Texas, in the counties of Collin and Hunt about 40 miles northeast of Dallas.
According to the development website, it will include a new mosque, unified houses, a community college, schools, businesses, a school and parks.

“The vision of Epic City is simple,” said CCP president Imran Chaudhary. “We want to build an inclusive community, that in which people of all history, faith and culture can live together in harmony.”
Epic Ranches is another development near Epic City which offers larger plots of plots to an acre and town sites that are about half a thousand Epic City.
