The summer I became pretty The star has officially joined the cast of season five of the HBO Max series, currently in production.
Briney comes from the beloved Prime Video series, where he plays Conrad Fisher. While Tsip Recently finished the series finale, he will reprise the role in the next film surrounding the franchise.
Entering its fifth season, Tips just won two Emmy Awards at the 2025 awards show, where Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder won Best Comedy Actress and Supporting Actress, respectively. Reflecting on the end of the series created by Jenny Han alongside Lola Tung, Briney discussed his newfound “it boy” status in a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter.
“I don’t really feel it,” he replied when asked how he fared as the male lead in a hit series with so much fanfare. “I stay away from most people (laughter) and social networks as much as possible. This is part of the reason why people have such an easy time confusing you with your character. I know [about it] because I’ve heard that people have been really supportive of me and I appreciate that and it means a lot, but with the good there’s always the negative. And I don’t like any of that, so I just try to do my own thing.
Tips is created and directed by Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello and Jen Statsky. Executive producers include Downs, Aniello, Statsky, Michael Schur, David Miner, Morgan Sackett, Joe Mande, Aisha Muharrar, Nate Young and Ashley Glazier.
