Christian Horner dismissed as a Red Bull leader, confirms the team

Christian Horner was dismissed by Red Bull after 20 years as director of the team, confirmed the team on Wednesday.
Horner has been in charge of the F1 Red Bull team since 2005 and supervised its dominant races in the early 2010s and the current decade.
The news occurs a year after Horner has kept his role following an internal investigation into sexual misconduct resulting from the allegations of a former employee of Red Bull Racing.
This saga only approximated the political fruits that followed the death of the founder of Red Bull, Dietrich Mateschitz, in 2022.
Former director of the Bulls Racing team, Laurent Mekies, was promoted CEO of Red Bull Racing.
Under Horner, Red Bull won eight pilot championships and six manufacturer championships.
The team won all of its 124 Grand Prix victories under its direction.
However, Red Bull fell from the pace this season and the Superstar Max Verstappen pilot expressed his frustrations with the car.
The future of Verstappen with the team was also questioned, Mercedes monitoring the state of the exit clauses in his contract related to performance.
Oliver Mintzlaff, CEO of the larger RED Bull Company business projects and investments, said: “We would like to thank Christian Horner for his exceptional work in the past 20 years.
“With his tireless commitment, his experience, his expertise and his innovative thought, he played a decisive role in creating the Red Bull race as one of the most successful and attractive teams of Formula 1. Thank you for everything, Christian, and will forever remain an important part of the history of our team.”
