Foxborough – Cornerback Christian Gonzalez and defensive end Keion White came out for Sunday’s match against the Dolphins, coach Mike Truebel said on Friday.
Gonzalez has been sidelined by sleeping hamstrings since the end of July. In the opening last Sunday against raiders, Alex Austin I obtained most of the work in its place, and finished with five plated, including one for a defeat, as well as a defended pass. He said he was ready for more work against Miami.
“I can’t wait to go there and do what asked me,” said Austin, who was one of the five defensive players to play each snapshot in defeat against Las Vegas. “For me, it is a question of being on my keys with regard to the cover and the victory at the point of attack.”
Instead of White – which is part of the injury report with an illness and was absent from training on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday – the patriots could turn to the veteran Anfernee Jennings. Defender Edge was inactive for the opener.
“I feel good about it,” said Jennings, who had a strong pre-season. “I feel good in the match plan, and I can’t wait to go there and execute the match plan and come back with a [win]. “”
“Anfernee is very ready,” said Truebel. “We had to make a difficult decision last week. We could only have so many active guys, and therefore I am delighted to see Anfernee playing. He has always been prepared and took advantage of his opportunities. He will continue, I imagine, will do it on Sunday, and play hard and play physically and will be ready to go.”
Truebel also said that this secondary Marte cartography (neck) and right tackle Morgan Moses (foot) are questionable for the game. If Moses is unable to play, TRUBEL plans to use a rotation on the right, with a recruit Marcus Bryant Get the first look before pivoting Védérien LOWE.
“Marcus would be the first of,” said Truebel. “Vederian worked throughout spring and a training camp to return. He was active last week, so he would also be an option. ”
Seek to bounce back
One of the turning points against the defeat against the raiders was Truebel’s decision to kick with just under five minutes to play and the patriots followed by 10.
Bryce Baringerwhich collected an average of 49.8 yards per boot of clearance last season, delivered a 21 yards which installed the raiders to their line of 35 yards. Although the booty boot is not led to a touchdown in Las Vegas, the tone could have changed if Baringer could pin the raiders in depth.
After the match, Vrabel deplored that the patriots did not obtain a better boot of clearance in this situation. On Monday, Baringer echoes the comments of Vrabel, saying that he had to do a better job.
“If I hit normal and clean football, they have it at 10, then, our defense can come out and, hope to stop,” said Barringer, who compared his role to a relief launcher who has trouble after a very effort of the starter.
Baringer, who had a shift of 59 yards earlier during the day, dropped two of his six clearances of clearance inside the 20 yards of the Raiders. He rejected discussions on the wind or rain being a factor on his fourth quarter of release.
“I have played in many games here,” said Barringer, who did the NFL All-Rookie team in 2023. “I just need to do a better job to go out and execute it. It is not a discharge of clearance difficult to manage in this situation. It is simply a question of going out and executing.
“I know that I can because I have done it in the past. It’s just frustrating on my part, because we stop. I thought our defense had played very well, but it is my work to change the position on the field and to create a good time for our defense, and finally it simply did not happen. I did not blame myself.
Get by
The dolphins excluded four players for the Sunday match: the cornerback Storm duckoffensive player Austin Jacksondefensive line Benito Jonesand tight end Darren Waller. Corner Ethan Bonner and the ball carrier Jaylen Wright are doubtful, while security Ashtytyn Davis is questionable.
