Chris Martin de Coldplay says he didn’t want to insult the Rogers stadium after calling him “weird”

The singer of Coldplay, Chris Martin, says that he did not want to insult the new Toronto concert hall when he called it a “strange stadium in the middle of nowhere”.

Martin published the Clarification Friday during the third of the four concerts at the newly built Rogers stadium, which is on the outskirts of the city.

He said that he “never criticized” the stadium and only wanted to thank the spectators for making the trek to the old fields of Downsview airport.

When he went on stage on Monday, he thanked the fans for having adopted “traffic and travel and trains and waiting” to go to the site.

The spectators complained about the bad control of the crowds at the 50,000 inhabitants stadium when it opened last month, and some said it was a problem of leaving the place even after the first spectacle of Coldplay.

During the Friday show, Martin said that he only wanted to thank people for taking care of the hassles of going to the site, not to insult the people who built the stadium.

“I never criticized this stadium which was beautifully, kindly built so that we were playing. I do not think of saying anything bad. I am so grateful to have somewhere where we can spend time with you,” he said.
