“A return to Italy has long been presented as the most likely result for Federico Chiesa this summer after a disappointing first season in Anfield. This remains the case, although the chances that Reds get a permanent agreement feel as if they are shrinking the deadline.”

A potential route for Chiesa lies in Atalanta, which reports that Lynch could “be armed with sufficient funds to conclude an agreement” if they unload the former striker of Everton Ademola Lookman. This would require a large offer, with the Serie A club could seek 50 million euros (43.2 million pounds sterling).
