Rohan: Chiwetel, after the great discovery of Copley in the first film, what does he consider his new role in the team this time?

Chiwetel:: I think that’s how it started, you know, for me, I have the impression that he will come out of the first film – it is really logistics, I think, for a while, for the old guard and part of the way they have settled and managed with operations, and he uses his own set of skills to help them achieve their goals. But more and more is attracted to the type of family, and is more part of the group, you know, even in the field. So, he is out of needs reminding sometimes that he’s not immortal belt he’s rushing surround, getting involved in all of the shenananigans, but really, he’s to kind of facilitate and aid and assist their operational goals, Which is a great evolution of copley, and i think It’s a role where he is highly opportunity, really, to heal and discovers, you know, within the camaraderie of this group, and his place within, you know, a real chance of being part of something positive.

Rohan: Henry, you are the most recent actor but play one of the oldest immortals. How did you approach entering Tuah’s shoes and joining this set?

Henri:: Yeah, I think, you know, the complexity of Tuah really lies inside, he knows more than he reveals it. He drags these guys from around the world, looking for and documenting for thousands of years, and therefore, he knows them quite intimately, strangely, but he cannot give it, because he is new in the group. In a way, he does not want to scare anyone, but also, it is a recluse, you know, he has been hiding for so long, one because of fear, two, because of this mission that he considers that this is necessary to complete with the reason why the immortals exist. Thus, he tried to go to the bottom of this by discovering how or what effects have their actions on civilizations. So, for me, there was like this part of this heaviness of what he has done for the past, as long, but also this idea that he wants this relationship, and this company’s idea of this very strong group. So he has two sides of something that draws him. I love how complex it is.

Rohan: Marwan, Joe is one of the most empathetic characters, especially in the way he manages things with Booker and Nicky. What attracted you to this emotional complexity?

Marwan:: Well, i think what is nice about the ending of the first movie is also the camaraderie and the build up relationship between – i mean, it’s observious that the stronest connection for joe is between joe and nicky, but that doesn’t mean that the connection, in this case, Booker, isn’t also a strong connection, and therefore to see Him Going in exile for that long spell of sets the tone for the second movie in terms of that and nikki do or do not share in their relationship, which is an interesting new color that we have not seen in the first film because the accent was different, but that’s how the second started. So, it was interesting to discover it, can you see cracks in the relationship between Joe and Nicky, and can they, after that, be trusted again?

Rohan: For everyone, immortality means something different for each of your characters. If you had the choice to gain immortality or lose it – where would you land? And did these roles change your point of view?

Chiwetel:: Well, it is interesting, you know, what mortality means day in age, you know, just this idea, because the damage is such a heavy longevity, you know, it is sort of deleted folklore, in a way, and the kind of youth fountain, in a real scientific desire. I mean there are really efforts to know if there are any and I inevitably think that you end up thinking about these questions, the kind of existential questions and, but I wonder if it is really a question of immortality, it is a question of always, or if it is a question of fifteen additional minutes, you know, give me another day, give me another week, you know, and if it is a little. I do not think you can never face this kind of idea of all this time, you know, but we all understand what emotion could be to want to spend a little more time, you know, of course, with the people who are close to your heart.

Henri:: I think that, from a point of view like that of Tuah, it is really the curse of being immortal. I think he lived so many lives with people who died that he arrived at a stage where he locked himself and that he could therefore continue with work and rather than undergo the losses. And maybe there is something in him who wants there to be an end, and that is why he tries to find, you know, what does it look like?

Marwan:: Yes, and I think that for Joe is perhaps the most, you know, if you could put them in a year in a year, maybe Joe and Nicky would be the spring of this group, because the fact of their relationship and their connection, but that also puts great pressure on what would happen if they disappear. Therefore, they cherish the fact that they are together, but what happens if it was not, and that would obviously change the weather considerably.

Andy (Charlize Theron) and his team of immortal warriors are back, with a renewed meaning in their mission to protect the world. With Booker (Matthias Schoenaerts) still in exile after her betrayal, and Quynh (Veronica Ngô) to take revenge after having escaped his underwater prison, Andy cluster with his new mortality as a mysterious emerging threat which could compromise everything that she worked for thousands of years. Andy, Nil (Kiki Layne), Joe (Marwan Kenzari), Nicky (Luca Marinelli) and James Copley (Chiwetel Ejiofor) enlist the help of Tuah (Henry Golding), an old friend who could provide the key to unlocking the mystery of immortal existence. Directed by Victoria Mahoney, and with also Uma Thurman, The Old Guard 2 is an emotional and pumping suite of adrenaline, based on the world created by Greg Rucka and the illustrator Leandro Fernandez.
