The star of the WNBA becomes brutally honest about the moment of clumsy autographs

WNBA has increased quickly in recent years. While yes, this is largely due to Caitlin Clark entered the league in 2024, the WNBA finally obtains the coverage and the respect it deserves. This means, however, that other league players are also becoming more popular and may not like the way they are approaching autographs.
The Los Angeles Sparks goalkeeper Kelsey Plum made the headlines recently when she called the fans to camp in front of the hotel where the Sparks stayed on the road for an outside match.
“Don’t you find this kind of weird?” Plum asked fans. “Disc, like, discreet? Go? I’m really deactivated right now, I’m not going to lie.”
The fan told him that he was a fan and even said that she could put his name on the autograph (so that he could not sell it online). Plum signed something for him, but seemed very uncomfortable with the whole situation.
The Los Angeles Sparks Kelsey Plum goalkeeper does not like the way WNBA fans are looking for autographs
On the one hand, it is understandable why Plum could be frightened by this. It would be quite disturbing to know that fans know where you and your team stay and what some people may be able to try in these situations.
It is also logical that it is bizarre by that, since the WNBA was not a large-scale league, so it has probably been able to fade a little more in the background.
On the other hand, the WNBA grows and it is a sign of that. Maybe the fans started to look because of Caitlin Clark and if they did, they now see stars like Plum and become a fan of his. It could very well be something that Plum will have to get used to.
Hopefully fans can be respectful in the way they ask for autographs from their favorite players. Going to a hotel may not be the way to follow, and I hope that is not the new standard.
