Winds and hail in mind should be the main threat, but all violent weather risks are possible, said Chicago Meteorologist Larry Mowry.
Some storms could cross the area in the morning. The main window for a possible violent time is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Mowry noted that if a group of storms is developing at the bottom, they could deprive part of the humidity in the Chicago region and limit storm chances.
Some pop-up storms are also expected after 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday. Strong showers are the main threat.
There is also a chance to distribute the storms in Wednesday.
The area will dry on Thursday and temperatures will become very hot, climbing the 90s in the 90s before the weekend.
The heat index should be more than 100 degrees on Sunday and Monday.
