Chelsea, champion of the reigning female Super League, began his defense with a hard victory played 2-1 against the Rivaux of the title Manchester City.
During an entertaining opening evening – where Chelsea presented their new signature of 1 million pounds Sterling Alyssa Thompson before kick -off – The Blues scored two smooth goals on each side of the break, similar, to secure Sonia Bompastor a record victory for the 20th WSL.
The Frenchwoman becomes the fastest manager in the history of the competition to reach this total, although he was pushed all the way by City, who played aggressively in the style of the new head coach Andree Jeglertz.
Bunny Shaw wasted a handful of efforts, while Yui Hasegawa and Lily Murphy were refused by the impeccable goalkeeper of Chelsea, Hannah Hampton, with strikes from Aggie Beever-Jones and Maika Hamano at the opposite end by ensuring a perfect start for the Londoners at Stamford Bridge.
