The side of Enzo Maresca is clearly uncomfortable with the prospect of paying a figure of around 85 million pounds sterling for Hugo Ekitike this summer.

However, the Bundesliga is obviously not unless the highest attacker talents this summer. Among the tastes of the man of Frankfurt and Benjamin Sesko, however, is perhaps an underestimated name.

Go forward, Nick Woltemade. The 23 -year -old attacker produced a sparkling campaign 2024/25, with 20 contributions for purposes (17 goals, three assists) in 33 games (all competitions).

In this spirit, Chelsea engaged in talks on the potential signature, although it was understood that it was an exploratory nature.

“The Chelsea FC has submitted investigations to the management team of Nick Woltemade. There have been conferences “,” Christian Falk exclusively informed the helmet in his latest acting file column.

“The Londoners have been monitoring the attacker for some time. Chelsea got on the contract until 2028 and was informed that there is no clause for an early transfer.

“Atletico Madrid is also interested in the attacker.”

How does Woltemade compare himself to Hugo Ekitike?

What is interesting to note in a direct comparison between Hugo Ekitike and Nick Woltemade, the potential of the first is clearly more austere.

Players Goals Minutes by goal XG by 90 (non-prenderect) during the last 365 days)
Nick Woltemade 17 119.94 0.44
Hugo Ekitike 22 165.6 0.6

The latter can claim the higher report of minutes by objective. But it would be negligent of commentators to ignore the fact that his Frankfurt counterpart has seriously underperformed his XG.

In 28 Bundesliga games (1,622), Woltemade hit 12 goals on an XG of 10.2. In 33 Bundesliga games (2,563 minutes), Ekitike scored 15 goals on an XG of 21.6.

For the record, if the Frenchman had approximately reported his total XG (bringing together 22 goals), he would be on a league goal rate every 116.5 minutes.

In the end, of course, the German has not massively outperformed its XG and there is always a persistent question to know if Hugo Ekitike can improve its effectiveness in front of the goal.

With links with Arsenal and Liverpool persistent for Nick Woltemade, Chelsea will not have all the time in the world to think about this.
