Chelsea can already align an alternative to Hugo Ekitike in the transfer window this summer.

The latter can claim the higher report of minutes by objective. But it would be negligent of commentators to ignore the fact that his Frankfurt counterpart has seriously underperformed his XG.
In 28 Bundesliga games (1,622), Woltemade hit 12 goals on an XG of 10.2. In 33 Bundesliga games (2,563 minutes), Ekitike scored 15 goals on an XG of 21.6.
For the record, if the Frenchman had approximately reported his total XG (bringing together 22 goals), he would be on a league goal rate every 116.5 minutes.
In the end, of course, the German has not massively outperformed its XG and there is always a persistent question to know if Hugo Ekitike can improve its effectiveness in front of the goal.
