Progressive Zohran Mamdani presents his case directly to conservative Fox News viewers

Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, the democratic socialist often called a far-left radical on Fox News, is launching a new television ad campaign aimed directly at the conservative network’s viewers, the Daily News has learned.
The ad, which urges viewers not to be “fooled by the noise” from the conservative media, will begin airing Saturday morning, the first day of early voting in New York, on the popular show Fox & Friends.
Mamdani heads into the general election with a double-digit lead over former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who is running as an independent. Cuomo has sought to bridge that gap by appealing to the city’s conservative residents with appearances on the right-wing radio show Sid & Friends on WABC and on Fox News.
The six-figure ad buy is Mamdani’s attempt to appeal to these same conservatives. The battle for conservative votes comes amid efforts to oust Curtis Sliwa from the Republican Party as he continues to lag in the polls.
Mamdani’s 30-second spot begins with a flash of short static clips of Fox News calling Mamdani a “communist.”
“I am the real Zohran Mamdani, not the one we talk about on this channel,” the candidate says in the ad.
“My radical agenda? Turn the page on the policies supported by billionaire Andrew Cuomo, make the city affordable, fight government waste, keep New York safe and keep our promises.”
The campaign did not specify the amount of the ad buy.
Mamdani gave an interview on Fox News last week, in which he indicated that he would be willing to work with President Trump on affordability issues, but that he “wouldn’t be a mayor like Mayor Adams.”
