Chelsea failed late to sign Wolves striker Jorgen Stand Larsen

Chelsea would have made a late attempt to sign Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen before the transfer date, according to journalist Simon Phillips.

The Blues were looking for an additional attacker to strengthen their attack options and contacted Stamford Bridge’s 25 -year -old representatives to bring the day of the deadline.

However, the agreement did not materialize and it seems that the club has failed in their efforts.

Wolves had no intention of selling Jorgen Strand Larsen

Wolves had previously refused several approaches to Newcastle for Strand Larsen throughout the summer transfer window, the last offer would have reached 55 million pounds sterling.

Under the Manager Vitor Pereira, the club hesitated to sell the Norwegian international, especially since they had already separated from the top scorer Matheus Cunha, who moved to Manchester United this summer.

Despite four years to play on his contract, the future of Strand Larsen has become a subject of discussion in the final stages of the transfer window.

Newcastle was one of the clubs most interested in signing it, but it seems that they were ultimately not incuctant to provide its services.

Chelsea also made a decision concerning their own players. After a serious Liam Delap summer signature injury, the club decided to block the potential movement of Nicolas Jackson in Bayern Munich.

However, Jackson was not willing to return to Chelsea and, therefore, the club finally authorized its transfer and moved their attention to other targets.

Chelsea welcomed several new signatures during the summer, including Delap and Joao Pedro.

They also brought attackers Jamie Gittens, Alejandro Garnacho, Estevao and Facundo Buonanotte on loan, further strengthening their team before the new season.
