Chelsea Estevao’s teenager can be as good as Vinicius

Joao Pedro thinks that his Chelsea Estevao teammate can reach the same heights as the star of Real Madrid Vinicius Junior after his exciting start to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea is undefeated during three games from the new Premier League season having taken seven points, with only Liverpool above them in the table.

Joao Pedro and Estevao both had a helping hand to Chelsea, hitting the ground running after their movements in Brighton and Hove Albion and Palmeiras respectively.

After playing a key role in their triumph of the Club World Cup, Joao Pedro already scored twice in the Premier League for the Blues, while he imposed two assists in a 5-1 battery of West Ham, a game that saw Estevao, 18, provide a wonderful help for Pedro Neto.

Joao Pedro and Estevao are both in the Brazilian team as they complete their successful World Cup qualification campaign with matches against Chile and Bolivia.

And, even at this early stage of his career, Joao Pedro sees his teenager teammate progress at the levels of the superstar of Brazil Vinicius.

Speaking of Estevao and his compatriot Andrey Santos, Joao Pedro told London Standard: “We are always together at breakfast, lunch, training. I have known Andrey for over eight years because we have the same sponsor. Andrey is funny, we are kidding.

“Sometimes the training is too long for him and he feels tired before the gymnasium. I don’t always need to make the gymnasium, but I go with him because it is very important for him. He knows how physical the Premier League is.

Asked about what is so special at Estevao, Pedro replied: “He’s on the street. You can see that it is natural.

“Indeed [Adarabioyo] said to me, “Joao, wow. Estevao is incredible ”. Play for Brazil and Chelsea at 18, Oh my God. He will be like Vinicius Jr. ”

Vinicius finished second in the Ballon d’Or by voting last year and, although he was still at the start of his career in Chelsea, Joao Pedro confidence that he could one day face this most prestigious day of individual honors.

“The big clubs in England brought the best attackers in Europe this summer,” added Joao Pedro. “It will be interesting to compete with them for the golden boot.

“It would be a dream one day to win the Ballon d’Or. I believe in me. Anything is possible. Maybe it can happen. “
