Chase Burns to make his MLB debut for Reds Tuesday

Chase Burns, choice n ° 2 of the MLB 2024 recovery which has excelled at three levels of minor leagues this season, will be promoted next week to make its major league debut for the Reds of Cincinnati.
Burns, a starter on the right which is the n ° 12 perspective in the top 50 of ESPN, will take the mound Tuesday at home against the New York Yankees.
Burns, 22, relies on a fast higher ball from the 90s, and his cursor from 86 to 90 MPH is perhaps the best rupture ball in minor leagues. He made 13 departures in his professional career, the last of which came with Triple-A Louisville.
“It’s a bit difficult to find a reason why we should not,” said Reds manager Terry Francona on Sunday. “They tried to throw him a lot. He managed everything.”
The Reds have experienced a season from top to bottom, but at 39-38, they are still looking for a joker berth from the National League, and Burns will bring an additional intrigue to the series responsible for the star against the Yankees. Cincinnati lost three in a row before the final of the Sunday series with the Cardinals of St. Louis before opening a Homeste with the Yankees on Monday evening.
Burns has a 7-3 file with an MPM of 1.77 and 89 stick withdrawals in 66 heats of minor league. Before his selection in 2024, he presented the dry for Tennessee and AC for Wake Forest.
“We are trying to give ourselves all the opportunities to win and be there, and at the moment, we have the impression that Chase gives us the best chance, and it’s time to leave,” said the director general of the Reds, Brad Meador, in Cincinnati Enquirer.
While the Reds were inconsistent offensively this season, their pitch was solid. Until the defeat on Friday, the Reds finished 16th in the general classification in the team’s era at 3.90 and 10th with a whip of 1.23. But they placed the left -handed Wade Miley on the injured list on Friday and had to make the enclosure match on Saturday.
“Trying to understand when the time has come is always the most difficult part. You never know with certainty when a guy is ready,” said Meador. “But he obviously launched as well as you could hope during the first year of professional baseball, and he seems to be stronger. Even when a guy is ready, you never know, but he has succeeded each test. I don’t think he will be overwhelmed by the situation, that’s for sure.”
Pitch for Double-A chattanooga this season, Burns went 6-1 with an MPM of 1.29 in eight departures before landing in Louisville. Tuesday at Great American Ball Park, he is likely to oppose Carlos Rodon of New York, who has 9-5 this season with a 3.10 MPM.
“It’s another match, but it’s a major league team, he’s going to have a lot of first, but he has managed everything so far,” said Francona. “And I think there is an excitement, and you know, I think the front office, they try to help us win, and I think we appreciate this.”
Cincinnati also carried out a series of alignment movements before Sunday’s match, recalling the right-hander Yosver Zulueta from Triple-A Louisville and bringing the third goal Jeimer Candelario (tension of the lumbar spine) of a rehabilitation assignment of three weeks.
The right -hander Chase Petty was optionized in Louisville, and the second goal player Garrett Hampson was appointed for assignment.
