“Well, it can’t get much worse, can it?” Signature Ent. has debuted the official trailer for a crazy new dark comedy from the UK called Hostagesdirected by filmmaker Jim Owen. This film was originally shown at the 2025 Manchester Film Festival earlier this year and is on VOD (but only in the UK) in December. It is a dark comedy with social commentary that unfolds around a frightening incident. After a terrifying explosion in a London hotel, three strangers escape together and hide in a room. Hostages is a comedy about the 24-hour news cycle, “experts,” and whether social media is more important than people’s lives. (It is.) A British comedy thriller about 5 people caught in an ongoing terrorist situation. Independent film stars Charlotte Richie, Moody asked., Nicholas Asbury, Raj Ghatak, Luke McQueen, Nick Helm, Rachel Stubbing, Jack Barry, Georgie JonesAnd Simon McCoy.
