Charlie Kirk’s wife prayed she would be pregnant with third child after fatal shooting

Erika Kirk, the wife of the late Charlie Kirk, said she prayed to be pregnant with their third child after the right-wing political activist’s murder.

Her comments about hoping to have more children came up during her live conversation with conservative podcaster Megyn Kelly Sunday on “The Megyn Kelly Show.” At the time, Kelly asked her how many children she and Charlie wanted to have in total.

“We wanted to have four,” Kirk said. “I was praying to God that I was pregnant when he was murdered…I was like, ‘Oh, my God, that would be the ultimate blessing of this disaster.'”

She added that because of her experience, she encourages young couples to move forward with their plans to start a family.

“When I see young couples, I tell them, ‘Please don’t delay,'” Kirk said. “Especially if you’re a young woman, don’t delay. You can still have a career. You can always go back to work. You can never go back to having kids and they grow up so fast and so fast.”

She continued: “I was praying… We were both very excited about growing our family. »

Kelly chimed in to say, “Thank God you have both.” »

On September 10, Charlie, founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot while speaking to a large crowd at Utah Valley University. He was 31 years old.

Close-up video footage shows Kirk flinching violently as he is struck, and blood begins to flow as he contorts backwards. The crowd of about 1,000 students reacted immediately, shouting and turning to run. He was pronounced dead a few hours later.
