Cellulite symptoms

It is sometimes difficult to know when to see a doctor for skin changes, but if you suddenly develop a swollen skin rash that spreads or is associated with other symptoms, such as a fever and chills, it would be wise to call your primary care doctor, an emergency care center or the emergency service.
It is important to treat cellulite early before spreading through the body.
In most cases, you will not need a diagnostic test, explains Anna Guanche, MD, certified dermatologist on the board of directors at the Bella Skin Skin Institute in Calabasas, California. Most doctors can diagnose this condition by looking at your skin.
Your doctor can examine the skin to determine where bacteria have entered your body. “Sometimes it is a surgical site, but it can also come from an insect bite or a scratch of all kinds – everything that introduces bacteria into the skin,” explains Dr. Guanche.
A broad spectrum antibiotic, which is effective against different types of bacteria, can be prescribed for cellulite. You should start to feel better within three days of the start of treatment with antibiotics, although you had to take your prescribed antibiotics for 10 to 14 days, or risk a recurrence of the infection. If your cellulite does not cleare themselves with oral antibiotics, your doctor can admit you to the hospital so that you can receive intravenous antibiotics.
