Celebrate 25 years of human presence continues on the international space station

NASA and its partners have supported humans living and permanently working in space since November 2000. A truly global company, the international space station has been visited by more than 280 people from 23 countries and a variety of international and commercial spaces. The single microgravity laboratory has organized more than 4,000 experiences of more than 5,000 researchers in more than 110 countries. The space station also facilitates the growth of a commercial orbit commercial market for research, technological development and crew and freight transport.

NASA has created a dedicated logo to symbolize this historical achievement. The logo is visible in the dome of the space station in the image of July 17, 2025. The figure of central astronaut is representative of all those who lived and worked on board the station during the 25 years of continuous human presence. In the dark sky of space surrounding the astronaut are 15 stars, which symbolize the 15 partner nations which support the laboratory in orbit.

There is a visual representation of the space station to the edge of the design, where humans have had a continuous presence for 25 years. The land represents the planet that the orbit station and this science carried out on board the laboratory in orbit is for the benefit of all. The “25” number is integrated into the design border to represent more the 25 years of human presence aboard the space station.

After 25 years of human presence continues, the space station remains a training and prouvance field for the missions of deep space, allowing NASA to focus on Artemis missions on the Moon and Mars.
