West Ham already in talks over January double deal after Nuno’s plea to board

West Ham are seriously considering strengthening their squad during the January transfer window, reliable media sources have now confirmed.

West Ham target defender, midfielder and striker in January

According to Sky Sports this week, the Hammers have promised Nuno Espírito Santo that funds will be available to strengthen his squad at the end of the year, which is much-needed good news.

It is also believed that the east Londoners could bring in up to three major signings to the squad.

One of West Ham’s main priorities is to strengthen their defense. The team have shown great vulnerability at the back, conceding more goals than any other Premier League team so far this season, so bringing in a reliable defender could be key.

Midfield is another area West Ham want to improve. Their current options have struggled to gain a foothold in games or provide that necessary creative spark in the middle, with Nuno raising many eyebrows after his bizarre team selection to play Brentford.

Tomas Soucek and Andy Irving were outplayed by a dominant Bees side who had 17 shots in total, and if West Ham are to avoid the drop they need to plug those gaps in the engine room.

West Ham are also looking for a striker, which is arguably their most glaring need.

Niclas Füllkrug’s injuries have continued throughout this campaign, while youngster Callum Marshall is inexperienced and Callum Wilson boasts scorching fitness himself.

The Irons are already linked with a host of intriguing attacking names, with Al-Ahli’s Ivan Toney, Man United’s Josh Zirkzee and Real Madrid starlet Endrick all mentioned as potential targets.

West Ham were rumored to be working on a loan deal for Toney in January, but if that doesn’t pay dividends, Endrick is looking like an increasingly likely option.

Endrick-Brazil

The Brazilian struggled to gain playing time under Xabi Alonso, partly due to injury, and it was a similar story in Carlo Ancelotti’s final year in charge.

Endrick played a key role in Real’s run to the Copa del Rey final last season, scoring five goals in the competition, but was unable to do anything as Clásico rivals Barcelona finally beat them to the trophy in April.

Fabrizio Romano and other media sources are adamant that the 19-year-old could leave the Bernabeu on loan this winter – opening the door to a possible deal with West Ham amid their long-standing interest.

Now, journalist Graeme Bailey has shared a very interesting update, and Endrick is not the only Real player on West Ham’s radar.

West Ham in talks with Real Madrid to sign Endrick and Gonzalo Garcia

Bailey, in an article for TBR Football, claims West Ham are “already in talks” over a “double deal” involving Endrick and Gonzalo Garcia.

The former is understood to be on loan, while Nuno’s side have also asked about Garcia as their manager ‘begs his bosses’ for more attacking reinforcements.

Endrick rejected a move to West Ham last January so it is unclear what his position would be this time around with many clubs likely to be interested, but Garcia is apparently keen on a move to England.

Gonzalo Garcia

The 21-year-old Spaniard, who won the Golden Boot at last summer’s Club World Cup, has been limited to brief appearances as a substitute under Alonso this season but grabbed an assist against Kairat Almaty in the Champions League last month.

Despite his limited chances in 2025/2026, Alonso holds Garcia in very high regard, even comparing the young striker to Los Blancos legend Raul over the summer.

“I had no doubts about Gonzalo. What he does is not a surprise,” Alonso said.

“He did it several times at Castilla. At least for him. He’s the typical number nine, who knows how to wait for his opportunity, who moves well. I’m very happy for him. He has the qualities of Raul in his movements. There is no decision for the start of next season.”

With West Ham talking to Real about signing Endrick and Garcia, there is reason to believe the hungry young strike duo could inject some much-needed energy and attacking flair into Nuno’s ranks.
