Casper Ruud vs. Quentin Halys Match Preview
World number 11 Casper Ruud is a three-time Grand Slam finalist. However, the 26-year-old has struggled to maintain any consistency over long periods. In 2025, Ruud was eliminated in the second round of the Australian Open, before reaching the final in Dallas. The Norwegian performed well in the European clay court swing, which included a Masters-1000 trophy in Madrid. Having skipped the grass events, Ruud had a disastrous outing on North American hard courts. But a solid performance since last month (Japan Open semi-final, title in Stockholm) has given him a 37-14 record.
Quentin Halys has only 12 victories in the main draw of the tour in 2025. A semi-final appearance in Dubai happens to be the Frenchman’s main highlight of the season. He also reached the round of 16 at Roland Garros, as well as the pre-quarterfinals in Geneva, Stuttgart and Halle. Since the start of the US Open, Halys has only won one match on the circuit. Currently ranked No. 78 in the world, he is 12-22 this year and 47-84 overall.

Casper Ruud vs Quentin Halys ATP Swiss Indoors Basel 2025 Prediction
Ruud is in great shape at the moment and his forehand looks rock solid. The Norwegian won 80% or more first serve points in all of his matches at the Nordic Open in Stockholm. Meanwhile, Halys showed promise at the Rolex Shanghai Masters, but was unable to advance past the round of 16. The 28-year-old has no weapons to get out of trouble under pressure, and his lack of patience in groundstroke exchanges could lead to his downfall.
Prediction: Casper Ruud in two sets.
