Carter ready to play for lionesses after a “disgusting abuse”

Jess Carter is available for the semi-final of England Euro 2025 against Italy after being targeted by what manager Sarina Wiegman called the abuse of “ridiculous and excavation”.
The defender, 27, said on Sunday that she had received racist messages online throughout the competition and would take a break in social media accordingly.
The 27 -year -old Gotham FC player started each of the four lioness games during the tournament.
England has decided not to take the knee before Tuesday’s match after saying: “We and football must find another way to fight racism.”
Manager Wiegman said: “It goes beyond football. We have to support Jess [Carter]. She is not the only one to obtain this abuse, which is why she wanted to remedy it. She is fully supported by the team and myself.
We never left.

“Of course, we had a conversation. It is a difficult situation but Jess is a very strong person. She also wants to move on, but she and we estimated that we had to remedy ourselves, we cannot let him go. We did it.
“We want to play in the match. She is ready to play and compete. It says a lot about her and in the team. ”
Georgia Stanway said that she hoped that the decision not to take the knee would trigger a debate in the female game and called abuse on social networks.
“These are not fans,” said the midfielder, answering a question about people who have published violence on social networks.

“I think people like that don’t deserve to be called fans. Some things that we can never understand and it is one of them. We have to cut it from society.
“If we want to make a change, we can do it as a collective.
“These are moments like this that we simply do not defend. We had a few people who want to get out of social media because they are fed up.
“I hope this will evoke more conversations and change. We want more action to be taken. Our position and our opinion remain the same.”
