Cards show a risk of flooding for the Boston region from torrential rains in Thursday weather forecasts

The WBZ weather team highlights Thursday as a next day of meteorological alert, as heavy rains in forecasts present a risk of flooding for the Boston region.

We expect the heaviest to arrive just before dawn and continue until noon. Torrential precipitation and localized floods will not occur everywhere, but nearby areas and south of the mass pike have a much higher threat.

How much rain for the Massachusetts?

The precipitation totals could reach or exceed 2 “in a short period of time. This could lead to slow and dangerous trips during Thursday morning journey.

With water restrictions and prohibitions that appear in the area, certain precipitation will be absolutely beneficial. Obviously, we don’t want it too much, too quickly, but given the deficits that have accumulated in recent weeks, many of our lawns and gardens could appreciate a drink.
