Cardinals Recruit by Walter Nolen III (calf) to miss the start of the camp

The choice of first round of the Cardinals of Arizona, Walter Nolen III, is sidelined with a calf injury and there is no calendar for its return.
The 21 -year -old defensive line player selected 16th in the 2025 draft classification, was injured in the off -season training sessions, coach Jonathan Gannon told journalists on Wednesday.
Gannon did not exclude that the injury could extend in the regular season.
“I don’t know that,” Gannon told journalists. “I really don’t do it. We will see how it goes. Everyone is a little different. Each injury is a little different. Each guy is a little different.”
The defensive platform Bilal Nichols (neck) and the outside secondary BJ Ojulari (knee) will also be sidelined when Arizona opened the training camp on Thursday.
Nichols was limited to six games (five departures) due to Stinger’s problems last season. Ojulari missed all the season after tearing the ACL in his left knee during the training camp in 2024.
“They want to be there with their teammates and train,” said Gannon. “We need the three. But when they are healthy, they will play.”
Nolen was an All-American consensus last season while accumulating 14 plated for loss (including 6.5 bags) for Ole Miss. He passed his two previous university seasons in Texas A&M.
Nichols, 28, has 248 plated and 14 bags in 100 games (88 departures) on eight seasons with the Chicago Bears (2018-21), the Raiders of Las Vegas (2022-23) and the Cardinals.
Ojulari, 23, had 40 plated and four bags while playing in the 17 games as a reserve as a recruit in 2023.
