With a little more than a month until the arrival of Cardi B’s second year album, the native of the Bronx follows “Outside” with the release of his single “Imaginary Playerz”, which struck the streaming services on Friday, August 15.
The track samples the legendary “imaginary players” of Jay-Z of its 1997 In my lifetime, vol. 1. Earlier this week, Cardi revealed that she had received a HOV approval stamp.

“If he doesn’t approve of it, I would probably not even feel a certain type either, because it is like” ok, maybe I just had to come a little harder “,” she said in an X space. “But I’m happy to have come hard and he loved it.”
Cardi announced the single on Monday (August 11) while revealing the opulent cover, which finds it in a white fur coat and seated on the front of a matching Rolls-Royce. “Just a little taste for drama. Playerz imaginary this Friday,” she wrote on Instagram.

Cardi’s sophomor LP has 23 tracks, including Singles “Up” and “Wap”, previously published. The rapper winner of a Grammy defended his decision to keep the pair of old album songs. “It will be the last and the only time I will approach this,” she wrote on X in June. “Wap and up are two of my biggest songs, my fans asked me to put them on an album, and people are looking for them on IOP all the time … They deserve a house.”
