I played against Drogba and Henry, but the icon of the “powerful” Premier League was the most difficult

Didier Drogba and Thierry Henry represent an emblematic era of Premier League. It was the era of long sleeves, the T90 ball which would fly in all kinds of directions and, of course, some of the biggest rivalries that English football has ever seen.
It is just that Drogba and Henry presented at such a time. The first, so often man for the great occasion in Chelsea, is next to some of the greats in the history of the Stamford bridge. Henry, on the other hand, is undoubtedly the greatest premier league player of all time. The French, at his best, was simply absurd.

Many have been so full of praise for both. Arsene Wenger, the ex-legendary director of the Arsenal, said to journalists: “People like Thierry Henry [also] had exceptional qualities. They ran 100 meters in 11 seconds when everyone did it in 12.5 or 13. So, if today they perform it in 12, they are even faster.
“They start from enormous potential and that is why at this age, they can still survive, because they have football intelligence. They had exceptional physical qualities at the start. ”
Wenger’s counterpart, Jose Mourinho, has rarely hidden his admiration for Drogba, meanwhile. The so-called “special” fully trained the partnership with The Forward during his stay in Chelsea.
“Without a doubt, he is one of the most important players in the history of this club. It is not a doubt. We all, supporters of Chelsea, agree with this. We are not saying the most important because it is not just for the others who were in the same level or in the same generation.”
As well as they are both, however, the legend of Manchester United Nemanja Vidic appointed an alternative player as the most difficult opponent against whom he has ever played.
The icon of the UTD man reveals that Rooney was a hardest opponent
For all the big battles he had with Drogba and Henry, Vidic’s most difficult matches have often come to the training field against Wayne Rooney. Rio Ferdinand asked the former Manchester United defender to choose his most difficult opponent between the three aforementioned and quickly appointed his former teammate.
“Wayne Rooney. Obviously, Didier Drogba so many great challenges against him at the time of competition. But train every day with Wayne, powerful, fast.”
It should not be shocked that the Serbian defender fought against Rooney. The former striker of England is one of the best that the Premier League has ever seen – scoring 208 goals and helping 103 others in an incredible career.
Vidic will be grateful to have to face Rooney that Rooney in training, rather than in a competitive outing at the club level. Other central defenders did not have the same chance and were quickly put to the sword.
These three were certainly the main men of their time with regard to strikers in the Premier League. Although all full icons, Vidic’s verdict suggests that Rooney has left a mark on those inside Manchester United and the rest of English football.
